Bereavement Sale

1971 Triumph Herald 13/60 Convertible One of the last built and in very good condition. The car was bought from a dealer in the Midlands by a TOWC member in 2018. It was a genuine, low mileage, one family owned vehicle first registered in Plymouth. The first owner lived in Exeter and passed it to his daughter when he gave up driving. The member is a competent owner and before purchase he inspected the underside of the car on the dealer’s ramp to ensure it was sound. He also checked the chassis number which denotes a genuine, factory-built convertible. It came with a wealth of service history. After purchase he replaced the noisy gearbox with a reconditioned unit from a well known Triumph specialist. The complete clutch assembly was also changed at the same time. The car was used regularly for shows and club runs. In 2019 he decided an automatic gearbox would better suit a worsening medical condition and so the car was sold to another club member. He was also a competent owner and continued to maintain it in good working condition, again using it for club events. In 2019 the car had a full respray and the bodywork now complements the excellent standard of the interior. The car was last used in September 2021 for a local show, but the owner passed away unexpectedly in November. The odometer currently shows 51905, believed genuine.

The widow does not drive and now wishes to see the car going to a home where it will continue to be well cared for and enjoyed. Enquiries in the first instance to the TOWC chairman Julian Smith at retrojules@yahoo.co.uk or 07769 117125.
